When is the last time you made a big investment in yourself?

Not a spa day, or a Starbucks treat, or a dinner out - those are all wonderful things to do for yourself but I’m talking about an investment that potentially has the power to change your life, to make sustainable shifts, to reach those audacious dreams, and to create a ripple effect into all areas of your life.

From the moment I heard about life coaching, something changed inside of me! I needed to know more.

I was sitting in a University Lecture hall and the professor starting talking about Life Coaching. She explained it as this amazing relationship between coach and client. A relationship where both coach and client were creative, resourceful and whole. A relationship where space was held for the client to dream big and pursue their goals. And yes, while most first year University students were probably thinking about who they were going out with that night, I was trying to figure out more about this career option (as something inside me clicked).

If there was ever a time that the universe smacked me aside the head and said, “girl you need to pay attention to this,” this was it.

Now this was early 2001, so way before the term “life coaching” was trendy or well understood. In fact, I used to have to explain to my Mom that I was not considering a career in coaching a sport team, this was a legit profession. Now coaching is very much mainstream and it’s much easier to explain to people what I do.

So after I graduated from University, I went back to school and became a Certified Life and Business Coach and it was life changing for me. It was a three year program, that stretched me, inspired me, and lite a fire within me.

I knew in an instant I had found my calling. I can’t quite explain it, I just knew deep in my body, this was what I was meant to do. Have you ever felt this way?

Since then I have coached and been coached by many amazing women. And I honestly cannot think of a greater privilege than getting to see women rise up in their truth. Gosh, it can be juicy.

And yes, making the decision to hire a coach, can feel life a big scary investment (but sometimes those are the best ones, those big scary investments in yourself). Trust me, I’ve been there.

But let me ask you this, when is the last time you invested in yourself, in your hopes and dreams, in something that can shape your life forever?

I believe everyone should have the experience of a coach at some point in their life (and if they are super lucky, at multiple points).

Imagine a space being held for you, a space for someone to really listen to you, your hopes, your dreams and your desires. Someone to ask powerful questions, to keep you accountable, and to see you for who you are, and what you are capable of.

Coaching is not about fixing you, it’s about exposing your superpowers and really taping into your ability to live your best life. It is momentum, it is impact, it is powerful, it is magic!

Having said that, not all coaches are created equal (kind of like our essential oils). There are a lot of cheap knock off’s (sorry to sound so harsh but it’s true). So take your time, do your research, and get to know that person. I believe coaching is way more than just a business transaction. It’s a relationship - and a powerful one at that.

So what I want to leave you with today, is two-fold, I want to encourage you to seek out a coaching partnership at some point in your life. You are totally worth it! Put that intention out there and you’d be surprised who might show up to serve you.

Secondly, I want to leave you with a few coaching questions. Yes, I have been known to coach myself from time to time, and honestly the power of a few good questions can move you forward from the stickiest of situations.

So here are a few of my favourite questions:

1) What do I want? For what purpose, what intention and what will it give me?

2) How do I want to feel when I reach “x” goal?

3) What if I couldn’t fail?

4) Am I operating from a place of love or a place of fear?

5) What do I already know?

So what are your goals, hopes, dreams, desires. Take some time to write them down and answer these questions above, and if you get stuck just keep asking yourself to dig a little deeper, keep asking why?

And if you want to dig a little deeper with me, and feel a pull toward the work I do, let’s set up a free 20 minute discovery call. What do you have to lose? What do you have to gain?

Sending you lots of love. xo
